Lucas Heidepriem belonged to the absolute elite of European trombones in the 90s. As a student of Alberte Mangelsdorff, he became a beacon of hope for the German jazz trombone at a young age. A tragic lip disease forced him to give up his trombone career in 1993. Heidepriem withdrew from the jazz scene and began a long-term classical piano education with Prof. Erik Siefert Musikhochschule Freiburg. His contemplative piano playing caused a stir during his comeback, which amazed the experts after his CD release: (Lucas Heidepriem Trio Next Return and Silence in Motion Lucas Heidepriem Trio with Peter Erskine). In 2018 Lucas Heidepriem brought his son Michael Heidepriem ( drums ) into his trio. 2019 Father and Son releases CD Album Silent Life. Michael Heidepriem graduated with honors from the Jazz Campus Basel.
